Americana Kitchen & Bar

When I was in this area I looked up places to eat. We were looking for a diner type place because we had just come from moving furniture and weren't dressed nice and we felt messy but we were hungry. American Kitchen and Bar came up in my search and it looked like a typical dinner but it isn't. It's much nicer. The food was really good. The atmosphere was nice. The bar is big. The staff was super nice and friendly. The woman who seated us, then took our coats and hung them up for us. We went to a really expensive restaurant last week and they wedged 6 of us, all adults, into a booth for 4, maybe 2A/4C and didn't take our coats which made it very uncomfortable. The waitress was really good about serving us, refilling coffee and tea and not interrupting or becoming part of our conversation. We loved the place and for sure my husband won't be wearing a flannel and work boots next time. I only had soup and a salad and it was fantastic.

Been going here for 20+ years and it has only gotten better over the years. The long time favorite has been the Reuben which had shrunk a bit over the years. Almost everything on the menu is very good. Since they've added the bar, they have top notch cocktails and will stuff olives on the spot. Their sister spot, Skylark is good as well. Will keep going back!

American is in the midst of a major facelift!The food here has always been excellent, and their menu has gone from a typical diner to next level gourmet twists on classic diner fare. The food remains ahead of the rest. Their prices do reflect their upgrade- with an omelette costing around $15. They do include ‘starters’ as part of your meal, which adds a classy touch. They also have two large private rooms to accommodate events. All in all- it’s a really nice interior, good service and great food. 👍👍👍
